My daughter and I dug up some worms from our garden and I did a "show and share" via my cell cam!
We talked about safe handling of worms...the oils and lotions on our skin can harm them so we should always wash our hands first and use a wet hand to hold them. And just let them wriggle around, don't poke them or pull them or squish them..be kind!

We talked about how, instead of sending our food scraps away in the green bin, we can set up our own vermicomposter at home!! https://www.fix.com/blog/composting-with-worms/www.fix.com/blog/composting-with-worms/
GO ON A WORM HUNT!!
Watch how they move! Can you find which end is the head and which is the behind?
Where did you find the most worms?
Remember to handle them with care! We need worms for healthy plants!!!
Ambitious moms and dads can help you build a vermicomposter!!!
There are MANY MANY diy projects! This one is SUPER EASY and inexpensive system!!!

I've started this page during the COVID break to help the kiddos continue learning at home. Most activities can be done with kids of all ages if parents vary the level of content, participation and discussion appropriate to each child! (differentiated instruction). Before the break we were at letter S. Visit our facebook page for letter A-R activities at https://www.facebook.com/evergreenacademy.ca/
