The kiddos guessed what pictures of Earth were behind the shapes!
We read a book about Earth Day and talked about why Earth Day began and why we need to care for Earth! This is my personal copy. I couldn't find a read aloud online but it's available at Scholastic. There are also lots of other good books out there about Earth Day if you Google it!
This song taught us how to REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE!
We read an interactive story about recycling from Starfall and sorted some recyclables. We saw that when we started cleaning up, the animals came back!!
A fun recycle song!
What if you had to dispose of all your 'trash' yourself???? A good 'stop and think' for EVERYONE!!!
The littles helped me to recycle these items. We thought about things we could maybe do differently like the bow....maybe making a paper bow out of a newspaper would be a better choice than buying a plastic one!
Some follow up!

I've started this page during the COVID break to help the kiddos continue learning at home. Most activities can be done with kids of all ages if parents vary the level of content, participation and discussion appropriate to each child! (differentiated instruction). Before the break we were at letter S. Visit our facebook page for letter A-R activities at https://www.facebook.com/evergreenacademy.ca/
